SEPA stands for ‘Single Euro Payments Area’. This is the vision, directive and goal of the European Commission which means that citizens and companies within the European Union have to be able to pay with a single set of payment instruments. This set is the combination of a bank account and instruments like money transfer, direct debit and cards. SEPA signifies the end of international payments within Europe.
